Coba Koster

Coba Koster (1951) molds her compact animal sculptures mainly from clay.

Her love for poultry is shown in the series bulky chicken, ducks and geese. The smaller birds like the hoopoe bird and the wren are, just like the poultry, molded without fringe and finery.

Nowadays she is making mammals in bronze. Allthough the sculptures of Coba Koster radiate liveliness, it is not her purpose to make them completely, biologic realistic. Especially by showing her fingerprints in the clay and the sculptures, she imagines an animal world, more than a blueprint of reality.
