Heather Nevay (1965, Glasgow, Scotland) received her education at the Glasgow School of Art and graduated in Art and Design (printed textiles) in 1988. Symbolism plays an important role in her works, which mostly display human figures in fantastic natural surroundings. The relationship amongst the portrayed figures is the most crucial element in her paintings. She uses this symbolism to express notions of heroism, weakness, fear and the change which continuously influences human relationships. In addition to the symbolic meaning of objects, colour also plays an important role in work.
