Cecile Perra
Cecile Perra (1978, Metz - France) finished her education in Visual Arts at the Ecole Superieure d’Art in Aix en Provence. Since her early youth Perra has the daily need to ‘create’. Her keywords are sewing, fabrics, drawing, oilpaint, clay, old papers and old portraits. Perra uses all kinds of materials to essamble her objects, drawings and oilpaintings. She paints on glass or photo’s, she sews and uses collage-techniques in her drawings and paintings which results in an authentic and recognizable signature. With a tough of nostalgia Cecile Perra renders the free, primitive and imaginable spirit of childhood. Her colorful textile objects reminds us of antique dolls or mythical creatures, sometimes clumbsy, then elegant, enchanting or melancholic. Since 1996 Cecile Perra has been exhibiting her work actively all over France (a.o. at Lille, Paris, La Sorgue, Toulouse, Lyon, Avignon, Marseille, Lourmarin, Aix en Provence). In the spring of 2012 Perra makes her first debut in The Netherlands, showing her works at Morren Galleries.
