Marie José Robben
Marie José Robben (Loon op Zand 1959) found her way in the art of painting by attending the Art Academy in Den Bosch, the Rijksacademie in Amsterdam and the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris.
Her work is pasty and colourful and has a firm texture and touch.
Favourite subjects are the sea and landscape, but also more abstract images. She doesn’t want to work with too much figuration or detail; the picture has to remain a mystery.
Just like Jackson Pollock and Willem de Kooning, she doesn’t work behind an easel, but on the ground.
She works and lives in Amsterdam.
